PART 4: Good partnership with Malaysia

In 1967,Malaysia and Spain established friendly diplomatic relations. Next year it will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Over the years,the both of countries have maintained continuously exchanges in terms of trade,education, tourism and cultural exchanges. Every year,approximately there are around 40,000 Spaniards visit Malaysia.and malaysian visiting back to Spain about 30,000 Malaysia is an important member of ASEAN and one of the world’s Muslim countries.Spain has a long history of Muslim culture and a Muslim population. The cultural exchanges and mutual visits between two sides signed on MOU,  Muslims are majority of population of Malaysia,while unity of ethics has enhanced into multual benefits and constantly strengthened.The trading volumns of products between Spain and Malaysia including rubber,olive oil, machinery and machinery equipment,electronics,spices,and food,etc.,Every year about 30 to 40 Malaysian students receiving scholarships to study the courses on MBA, engineering machinery,Business Law, Tourism Management and Western medicines at private universities in Madrid and other places in Spain. The Spanish government has established INSTITUTO CERVANTES worldwide by offering the courses of leraning & training overseas students and local people who are interested in studying Spanish.The Malaysian branch provides formal Spanish language assessment certificates,which serves as a convenient channel for entering Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.In addition, the two governments have continuously expanded bilateral cooperation and prodctive programs. Spain regards Malaysia as a hub of ASEAN,and the Spanish embassy is promoting the deepening of friendship between two countries in various fields,specially there is 13 year long project in Penang,northern Malaysia, has made social results in public, talking about Spainish domestic policies, the ambassador said that Spain is an European country that have a sense of responsibility and commitment to the world. Every time there will be millions of refugees postwar in the Middle East and from Africa,illegally entering Spain through border between Europe and Africa. Spain demonstrates a broad spirit of international humanitarianism by providing them with accommodation, food and medical care.These facts has won praises from the United Nations and the world people.The ambassador himself commented his views on this matter.When talking about the current development and future of the two countries,he is full of confidence and expectations.
