Interviewing with Mr. Amarin Khoman–Honorary Consul of the Republic of Benin to Thailand

Tracing back to Thai diplomatic history ,there used to be an outstanding figure so world famous, who had pushed Thailand onto the world stage and made so significant events in Asia, many and many Thais and foreign friends at home and abroad still have their deep memory in recalling this great diplomat in history of Thai diplomacy, he also was one of founder of ASEAN concept which had realized his dream come true, he was former foreign minister of Thailand –Mr. Thanat Khoman, while he just passed away recently with ages of over 100 years, today with an occasion to encounter his excellent nephew—Mr.Amarin Kohman,who revealed us pieces of the significant legends of his uncle who had left behind the reverent diplomat.

In the mid of last century, Mr.Thanat Khoman was an active politician all over the world ,which made so many miraculous performances, he had deserved his duty so well to Thais and Thailand, due to his birth from the professional diplomatic background, his father had used to be a higher ranking diplomat in last two centuries, the young Thanat Khoman had learnt so much from his father, who had instructed him on face to face, he was determined to be a professional diplomat in future, after he returned to Thailand by completing his higher education at abroad, Mr.Thanat Khoman, who had devoted his career into diplomacy, started with his excellent jobs in life time and had encountered with so many world celebrities and great political leaders in the world in the last centuries, he had broadened and deepened the diplomatic spaces to Thailand outward.

While at celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN by reviewing over the past years of its glorious history, ASEAN members have been working with hand in hand so closely in fields of educational exchanges, governmental linkages, economic development, tourist cooperation as well as the other aspects, through the thoughts and ideas initiated by Mr.Thanat Khoman who had made Thailand melted into Asean Cooperative Framework which is promoting its members into Unity and Progress, Asian neighbors makes great efforts in pushing ASEAN diplomatic sphere onto outside world, after his death till now his noble deeds have been remembered so long in the hearts of Thais and people all over the world.

In June 2018, Mr.Amarin Kohman flew to Manila to attend the 50^th anniversary of Asean Ceremony, where he received the Supreme Honor of Awards & Blue Medal from President of the Philippines—Mr.Duterte who highly recognized the great achievements in long term made by Mr.Thanat Khoman named as one of the founding fathers to ASEAN.

Today,[THAILANDIMPRESSION MEDIA] is so honored to be having an chance of interviewing with his excellent nephew –Mr.Amarin.Khoman,as one of modern Thai Celebrities and well known social figures in Thailand, while having a conversation with him and sharing us with so many previous photos in records of his uncle’s legendary stories, as far as the topics focusing on Mr.Amarin Khoman himself, who had graduated from the American university with major in Politics, after he completed his study and returned to Thailand, serving as his long term purposes of helping Thailand and Developing Thailand, within several of years, he had succeeded in making his business so broadly, he also could be described that he used to be an outstanding person and so brilliantly, he had initiated first sea freight cargo & shipping business of Thailand, he had marked the start of an epoch at that times, he has owned his career largely covered on air cargo services, holiday resorts and other business fields, in addition ,he also was founder of Honorary Consuls Association of Thailand, he was one of the former Presidents, and he works as director of Kennedy foundation of Thailand, for many years he has been devotedly working on his foreign diplomacy, he was appointed as honorary consul of the Republic of Benin to Thailand , it is privileged honor deserved to him who serves as a foreign diplomat on his performances in Thailand, while taking on a chance of interviewing, we hopefully like to extend our gratitude and wishes to his diplomacy and his business stepping further on as well as his dreams making up bigger than ever.

On June 21, 2018, the monthly meeting was held by International Women’s Club of Thailand[IWC],with more than 50 members from the different background at meeting, Many of them are Thai women and the foreign spouses in Thailand, including the wives of Foreign ambassadors to Thailand, they all listened attentively to the business reports made by the incumbent president and the former one in mentioning about the charity as well as the fundraising to Thai students for scholarship, IWC makes contribution to Thai poor society continuously and receives a good response in public. The meeting lasted for nearly two hours and moved into lunch time. There was presence of lucky draws made by the spouse of the ambassador of Kenya to Thailand in attendance by giving the awards to the winners. The gathering was supported by Kenya airlines Thailand branch, IWC strengthens its social skills and strong activities, involved into a wide range of communication in connecting with the different organizations in winning over recognition and cooperation with of the friends from all over the world, so as to create a win-win situation for the mutual benefit.
