Asia Pacific Ireland Business Forum 2017

On November 17th 2017, APIBF was held in Bangkok for first time since 2009. The Forum is the only major gathering of Irish corporates, entrepreneurs and diplomats and takes place once a year. The event is driven by the regional chambers of commerce in Asia.,This year Irish chamber representatives came from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the host chamber Thailand made all contributes to the organization of the event, with the aim to increase trade and investment between Ireland and Asia, the Former Irish Minister of Finance and Education—Mr. Ruairi Quinn spoke on the issue of Brexit, highlighted the close relationship that Ireland enjoys with both Britain and European colleagues, Followed by Mr.Ciaran Corkery, who is CFO at Kerry Group, educated the almost 200 attendees on the prospects for the Food industry.

The morning session was completed by DFDL lawyers who collectively outlined the prospects for crypto currencies in the global business environment. And the afternoon session offered options for three breakout sessions on Food, Technology and Education, all areas where Ireland excels and where there is plenty of scope for development across Asia. Mr. Paul Scales—President of the Irish Thai Chamber commented, APIBF is not only an event but is also the entity by which Irish business can grow in the region. The Irish Diaspora is a powerful group, not just globally but also within Asia. The regional chambers of commerce are well positioned to offer their members opportunities to grow their businesses throughout Asia, The Ambassador to Thailand, HE Brendan Rogers lead the support of the Irish government and commented, In the last three years Ireland has made new diplomatic missions opened in Jakarta, Bangkok and Hong Kong, New missions in New Zealand and Mumbai are in train, the State Agencies are delivering on the ground by supporting Irish exporting companies, attracting FDI, promoting Irish food and beverages, attracting tourists, building cultural bridges and supporting science and research linkages.”

THE WORLD OLYMPIAD COMPETITION IN PHUKET

On October 19, 2017, There was a press conference on release that Thailand would host the 11th Olympiad on astronomy and astrophysics, scheduled on November 12,-21 2017, Phuket, it is the second times by Thailand to run the world class Olympic contests which attract the candidates from over 50 nations worldwide, aiming at endeavoring the younger ones engaged in astronomy ,through the event, Thailand, it is proved that as a member of Asean Community in scientific strength and academic ability on show to the outside world.
