In 1967,Malaysia and Spain established friendly diplomatic relations. Next year it will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Over the years,the both of countries have maintained continuously exchanges in terms of trade,education, tourism and cultural exchanges. The Spanish government has established INSTITUTO CERVANTES worldwide by offering the courses of leraning & training overseas students and local people who are interested in studying Spanish.The Malaysian branch provides formal Spanish language assessment certificates,which serves as a convenient channel for entering Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.In addition, the two governments have continuously expanded bilateral cooperation and prodctive programs. Spain regards Malaysia as a hub of ASEAN,and the Spanish embassy is promoting the deepening of friendship between two countries in various fields,specially there is 13 year long project in Penang,northern Malaysia, has made social results in public, talking about Spainish domestic policies, the ambassador said that Spain is an European country that have a sense of responsibility and commitment to the world. Every time there will be millions of refugees postwar in the Middle East and from Africa,illegally entering Spain through border between Europe and Africa.
