On 26 August 2015, Thai authorities and global tourism bodies have today stepped forward to reassure the world that Thailand remains a welcoming tourist destination, saying the recent incidents in Bangkok will inevitably have short-term impacts and that the kingdom’s tourism industry will bounce back strongly and quickly towards the end of the year.
The assurance and confidence was raised during the press conference organized by Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the representatives from the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the Tourist Police Division, the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
