INTERVIEW WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF DANMARK TO THAILAND—Mr.MIKAEL H.WINTHER

Entering the cozy garden filled with the botanical decoration, into the courtyard, as I saw the interior decorating so simple, but elegantly mixed with the surrounding in the northern European style, so meeting with Mr.Mikael–the Danish ambassador to the kingdom of Thailand, making an appointment with him, due to the arrangement for the interview, in some sense, in the mind of the people, the ambassador seems some mysterious, but to my first impression, he looks like a sportsman more than his official title, I was struck by the enthusiasm of his initiative kindness which left me so impressive by his masculinity as well, with the strong body and tall figure, he is typical one of the Scandinavian in my first sight , we quickly ran into the topics and started up with the introduction to Denmark, which is one of the northern European countries, where the Scandinavia people had settled there for the centuries ,Danish people has been marked with the enthusiasm and by nature born with the bold and unrestrained character, I told the ambassador that the purpose I had brought with was to promote the friendship between the two countries, Denmark, in some sense, locating so far from Thailand, through gaining more understanding to the local and foreign people about the conditions of the northern European country, as far as bridging the trade linkage closer, Thailand and Denmark have respectively the different areas in the aspects of culture, history and architecture ,but compared with the difference that make the communication into the points, Denmark pays attention to its own cultural heritage and history, under the strong protection of the ancient and historic buildings, the Danish government has made restrict rules by laws for long term; aimed with the strong identity of international recognition like Thailand as well; Danish still has retained with many world-class cultural icons like the statute of mermaid, the great write Anderson, etc;

Denmark is well preserving in the energy and utilizing wind energy with aids of the advanced technology in the world; now the concept of technology had been introduced into Thailand

THE BRIDGE OF FRIENDSHIP WITNESS CROSS THE CENTURY

Paid an official visit to the kingdom of Belgium’s ambassador to Thailand—Mr. Marc.Michelsen

PART1–[BACKGORND]

Seeing from the country home of Famous cartoon character TinTin’s author, the great detective–Poirot as well as the world famous painter– Rubens, even to the headquarter of the EU in midst of the beautiful European Large Square—Brussels, and associating with the battle field as far as the Waterloo Relics during Napoleon wartime taken place in the centuries ago, till now possessing with the world known jewelry processing center and transporting port of European Goods–Antwerp , all these well known names can be linked with the name of a country—called as [BEGIUM]，which is situated in Western part of Europe, with its area not large, but it has a coastline of 65 kilometers, with wide beaches, and the famous mountains and forests rendering for the enjoyment of nature, especially for skiing in the winter; Hereby you can discover the walking trip over the Europe’s oldest shopping street—St.Galeries Hubert ,and world famous statue of Peeing Child which is erecting there.

PART 2–[BOND IN HISTORY]

The friendship between Belgium and Thailand, traced back to its history, as early as in1868 ,the both sides had signed a friendly treaty, till now there have been 147 years totally in history of Thailand with Belgium, with the establishment of Belgian residences moving to Soi Pipat area in 1903 ,which signaled the closer ties with Thailand ,the friendship marked with the two countries had upgraded onto the top level of the formal diplomatic relations in 1905.

PART 3–[AN ADVISORY PIONEER]

From Chulalongkorn University of Thailand ,there initially had been with 13 Belgians working as the advisory board, which presented the non-governmental exchanges between the two countries, the general head of advisory group was from Belgium, his name was—H.E.Gustav Jackman, born in 1892, used to be former Belgian foreign minister, with the background of the doctor degree with his achievement unusual was to launch up the institute of international law as sole promoter, he called up the legal persons and law makers from France and Germany, which signed up with the purpose he served to maintain peace and far away the war among the nine European countries in 1902, he acted as the founder as president till in 1909 he was retired and return to Belgium due to his health, marked with those outstanding performance in1904, he was named as the winner of Nobel Peace Prize, and his son received the award as result.

Secondly: there have been academic exchanges between one Belgian church and Tamassat University signing on cooperation on field of the sea research and technological items in partnership.

PART 4–[THE BRIDGE OF FRIENDSHIP]

Belgium presented a bridge to Thailand, as the result of a state visit by the former prime minster of Thailand in the last century ,in 1980, while he stayed in Brussels there used to be an abandoned bridge, he noticed that value would be utilizing beyond, as the bridge of friendship, the Belgian government presented to the Thai government for free, with aid of one Thai construction company moved to make demolition and transported back to Thailand, after 17 hours in the weekend, with the complete of assembling the parts of the bridge returned to Thailand, which now stands in the center of Bangkok, witnessing the milestone over the friendship between the two countries.

PART 5–[MUTUAL EXCHANGES]

PART 6–[BACKGROUND]

The kingdom of Belgium’s ambassador to Thailand, he works on his two terms, he used to be the kingdom of Belgium’s former ambassador to Bulgaria.

Nowadays, the embassy of the kingdom of Belgium to Thailand, at start of the millennium, it moved to this permanent location for official use till now.

Interviewing with the ambassador of Austria to Thailand—H.E.Mr.Enno Drofenik

Once there was an Oscar film award winner, with everlasting fans over the world to get in love with the movie is named as [the sound of music], as times spreading over half a century, it has been so much famous for its scenery filming in the idyllic country alike paradise, which is called [AUSTRIA] ,while appealing of musical rhythm and accommodated with nice melody, the dream of the grassland is mixed with the setting of the nature on the film show, with the beautiful lawn on the Snowy mountain capped with the deep snow on the top, so intoxicated with the feeling of the audience in heaven, from inside a beautiful country, today we will go into the fairytales by introducing the very distinguished guest who is the ambassador of Austria to Thailand—H.E.Mr.Enno Drofenik，at arrival of the embassy on time, the ambassador await me awhile ,greeting to me with pleasant feeling to seat down, before the conversation we started to strike up, Mr. Ambassador gave me a briefing over the background and history of Austria, so far shifting into the broad topics by deepening into the several aspects covering with the elements of Thailand.

 

PART 1—THE RECORD IN HISTORY

As long as tracing back to 150 years ago, around in 1865 with long history, as the treaty of Thailand with the European powers signed up , Austrian delegates followed the groups of European countries to start up with its good will diplomatic mission and official visit to Thailand by setting up the initial diplomatic ties, as recorded in the history, which had signaled up the good relation between Austria and Thailand had been established with the Austrian consulates.

THE PART 2— GEORAGRAPHY LOCATION

Austria is surrounded by the mountains with more than one thousand meter above in height so numerously; amid the Europe’s highest mountain – the mountain Alps, located in the midst of Austria, as one of the highly developed countries in Europe, lack of the natural resources, but endowed with many factors that promoted the country’s economic leap; with its most powerful length in showing off the technological training and human resource empowerment, within short period, its economic sound in the world as it used to take-off and present its strength in offering the premium training courses and certification in nearly 200 kinds of the items in category ,so far it has won the reputation to the world ,which is indispensable to the output of high quality industrial technology by Austria.

 

THE PART THREE—THE PROFILE OF THE NATION

1—the capital of music from Vienna, which won the fame all over the world, tracing back to its long history and background, due to the Habsburg Empire to create the brilliant culture and prosperity along with reborn of the Austro-Hungarian empire later, became one of the powers of the old Europe and as well as focus of European music heart.

The 2nd—the mountain Alps marked as the cultural backbone and spiritual symbol in Europe; Skiing is one of the most favorite sports to majority of Austrians, at every winter, the skiers stepping at the peaks, rushing in from home and abroad to take the real experience of the world’s top level skiing along the alpine on the skiing slopes ,filled with infinite happiness, more importantly, there is a great thing beyond that to witness the sacred face of the Alps in honor , setting in amidst of the tall mountains capped with the deep snow around the world, so marvelously in miracle, even tipping with a piece of white snow on the vast mountains.

The 3rd —the food culture, it is so ideal to experience the Austrians today by following up the fashion and trend in the modern life, HEURIGEN is viewed as the one of Austrian best cuisine culture with the basic essence and the symbol. Cafe COFFEE HOUSE exist throughout Austria, with the legend left behind by the Turkish invasion in the period of OTTOMAN empire rampantly invaded in the Europe, the Turkish brought in the concept of COFFEE and with expansion of the coffee culture passed down from generation to generation till now, it had deeply rooted and molded into the mind of the modern Austria.

 

THE 4th—THE MUTUAL EXCHANGES

On May 2015, Austrian symphony orchestra paid a official visit to Thailand; which had enhanced the cultural exchanges between the two countries in the friendly steps; As tattooed with the symbol of the musical contacts in the highest level; in Thai society caused a stir so warmly; of course the events would be continued to run on with themes the music festival every year; then, Austrian musicians will be invited to Thailand including solo, dancers and chorus conductor as well. On the stage with cooperation with Thai symphony & orchestra performance together; all efforts will strengthen the friendship by Austria with Thai culture exchanges program and deepen the non-governmental exchanges between the two countries.

2— The cooperative projects between Thai universities and the Universities of Austria, in which ASEA UNINET offers a kind of platform and data base incorporating with the two universities’ academic communication and as pipeline; For the future, the prospects depend upon the talents from the two countries and their government educational departments respectively in further developing the national offspring.

 

PART 5—TRAILING INTO HISTORY

Austria, endowed with the heritages of the royal balls and privileged rights over the musical halls, in the past centuries, with the significance of the establishment of these noble palaces to feed with the demands of the royal officers and noblemen in the upper class, the musicians from European countries rushed into Vienna to seek for any opportunities to make success during the reign of Hatsberg Empire, as result of creating the flourishing and blooming of the great empire , on the hand, who had brought out the prosperity and cherished up the world of music in the heart of Europe, while stepping into the golden musical hall, where the Austrian symphony orchestra on February each year open the door to the world, providing the world-class masters of music a chance of giving performances in public so as to be acting as a bridge international to enhance for spiritual power via RADIO transmission in communication with the souls of music lovers in the world, as a kind of platform—air concert; going through the voice of Vienna to send off the music from the golden hall by means of conveying peace and spreading beyond the boundaries and over the barriers.

 

PART 6—THE IMMOTAL GLORY

Austria had been proud of possessing with the ancient European ballroom in a long history, totaling over hundreds of large and small size, in which the largest ballroom can accommodate over three thousand people at spot; at Salzburg festival, where have been on display of live music shows at every corner of Vienna, in the year-round Vienna has been plunged into the great joy of music; From Vienna to Salzburg, Austria offers its charming everywhere in showing an unique musical atmosphere to the tourists from all over the world.

 

PART 7—POWER OF NATION

Austrian vocational training is well known in the world; around the world it has totaled with 200 kinds of skills examination and certification accredited by the professional constitutions, the apprentice training courses, welcomed by employers; which is focused on establishment of the perfect system, to facilitate with the apprentice in the process of training as result of the satisfaction from the contracts between the workers and employers.

In Thailand there is Thai-Arskik Technical College, saying as one of the best example in proof; It had witnessed the cooperation for more than half a century, between Austria and Thailand, at the beginning of enlistment in 50 students, but till today expanding over 500 students; with availability of the training courses covering in the fields of mechanic, electricity and cooking and home appliance maintenance., etc., of course it has succeeded in conveying lots of the skilled workers for the Thai society today.

 

PART 8—CONSOLIDATE WITH THAI IN TIES

The Thai railway system in whole has been deploying the advanced technology in the metro and sky-train lines, for most important parts of the technology used on the vehicle and transportation which originated from Siemen Company based in Austria. Utilizing with more than 50% of the modern railway and subway system works make Thailand run faster and safer in the modern daily life.

 

PART 9 —THE EXECLLENT ARTWORKS

SWAROSKI is the world brand crystal products with its fame over the world consumers, Austria has made achievement in offering the craftsmanship of glassware, handicraft and artworks in glasses, noted as the world’s top producer; with Its exquisite glass & crystal in design, it has always been beloved by the zest collectors in seeking of the crystal glass collection internationally.

At present, in Chonburi and Ayuttaya provinces, the production bases where there have been more than 1,000 Thai employees in employment.

Each year there are about 100,000 Austrian arriving in Thailand for tourism; And Thais, about 30,000 apply for visa to travel to Austria, the Austrian embassy in Thailand has range of empowerment to those four areas covering for issue of visa : Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand; New Austrian embassy in Thailand will be completed in the spring of 2017, at now, under the construction, the new embassy will deploy the eco-materials so environmentally in the buildings so as to conform with the trend of fashion in design, initiated with its novel and unique creativity, hopefully we can see the removal of the prospects that is on the way and on forth coming soon. Then in Bangkok near future where international color would be lightened up by addition of new elements inside the heart of the cosmopolitan.

 

[BRIEF TO THE AMBASSADOR]

Graduated from the University Of Vienna, Austria, with master degree in law; he used to serve as the permanent general secretary to the minister of Austrian foreign ministry; after that, he was assigned to act as ambassador to Japan and today the Austria’s ambassador to Thailand.

In Thailand tourist industry, everyone knows ATH [the association of Thai hotel], as we know, Thailand as the world’s sound brands depend on Thailand’s premium services to the quality of the hotelier all over the world, especially in this issue, the editor paid a visit to the president of ATH–Mr.Surapong, with more inside story by sharing below.

[CONTENT]

ATH was founded 50 years ago, with the current members of more than 200 hotels, in each two year, the members would run a new election for new presidency in the campaign. Mr.Suraporn successfully have seated on the presidency in two terms; He is so modest and polite in public before I saw him at first sight, during his term, ATH had made coordination with Thai government closely hand in hand, uplifting and promoting Thai hotelier, whatever in quality or in brands, which led to the highest level and matching up with international standard; especially the whole image of the hospitality of Thailand had been sharply enhanced together blended with the Thai traditional culture, today Thai hotel services as a scenery appeal to the world , by attracting the large numbers of the foreign visitors oversea, getting a close feeling with [THAI SMILES ] with charming of Thailand, obviously, carved with the first impression from Thai hotels to discover THAINESS and Thailand, many overseas visitors have made lots of nice memory, so enough ,all had caused the main reason to make the overseas tourists return to Thailand once more again.

[OUTSTANDING CHIEVMENT]

One of the achievement he had ever made was that while in his term he launched a campaign in cooperation with Thai governmental tourist authorities to crush down the illegal receiving service run by the owners of the apartments and private houses on the name of the rental to the foreign tourists, actually those illegitimate activities undertook on the underground, seriously damaged and disordered the normal markets in Thailand, further by causing so much blemishes over the image of Thailand , the elimination clearly uprooted the venoms and brought back a feeling of being fresh and being pure in new look of Thailand as the premium quality of the world’s top tourist destination.

The another job was to innovate ATH ‘s duty which acts not only the function to encourage and enhance the members’ brand hotels but also at the same time, also give out a chance of interactive communication among ATH members ,together stepping on the track of development with Thailand tourist growth.

In one week of this Feb Chinese Spring Festival, the large of numbers of tourists from mainland China, accounted about more than 500,000 checking in the hotels across Thailand, comparatively, with increase of 10-15% in this year than those in last year, the target set by TAT was indicated that in the year of 2016, the total reception of the foreign tourists would be estimated about 10 million, for this point, the President shows off his optimism and in confidence.

[ON SOCIETY]

He used to serve as the president of Asia hotels in Thailand, the member of Thailand tourism committee, the national trade board Thai international conference and exhibition center; and Vice President of Thailand hotel foundation etc., before those Thai titles, he also served as the Vice President of the Asean- Community tourist organizations.

Finally ,the president told the author that he is a descendent of Chinese family, since his grandfather moved from Hainan to Thailand and China centuries ago, he still remember one Chinese name his father gave him, with many profound and meaningful ideas contained inside, making him a life time memory ,he was encouraged up and marched on; his father was the founder of Asia Hotel with more than 50 years in history after he graduated from Chulalongkorn university, then moved into the national defense college and NIDA for receiving his master courses in business management , showing off his intelligence and ability, later on he made the hotel into the sound brand one in BKK, he added that his Presidency will be expired in March 2016, he expects that his responsibility and mission would be shifted over and on the newly-elected new incumbent, he still carries out his duty and continues to make further contribution to Thai tourism and hotel industry as well, he feel pleased and sure enough of the brilliant tourist prospect in Thailand.

THE IMMORTAL SPIRITS AND THE CHERISHED STATUES

Interviewing with Dr. Lily Sui Fong Sun—the granddaughter of Dr.Sun-Yat–Sen

[PREFACE]

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, who was the greatest man of the last century and as famous figure in the world, through the eyes of world people, was regarded as [father of China];her father, being a former mayor of Guangzhou, China,she gave her name quite with one word originated with name of Guangzhou, with the privileged chance of interviewing with the grand-daughter of Dr.Sun.Yat Sen, I had as early as in 2010, for the first time I took face to face talking with Dr.Lily Sui-Fong Sun in half hour, after that ,the editor keeps in correspondence with Dr.Lily Sun, and received the inscription granted from her great care and with her personal calligraphy to author’s newly opened column of [CELEBRITY] in the content of THAILAND IMPRESSION MEDIA.

 

[NOBLE FAMILY]

At first sight, anyone can see through her face which so much assembly like that of Her grandfather, she is very similar with Dr Sun Yat Sen in many ways, even with length of figure-size in medium, her pair of eyes, filled with brilliant light and wisdom.

In recent years, she acts as the president of Sun-Yat-Sen Foundation for Peace and Education and the Chinese women ‘s benevolent Association of Hawaii; she has been quite busy with writing books, attending the seminars and making speeches around the world in pursuit of his grandfather’s footsteps, through collecting materials from relatives and friends of hers to memorize the greatman. .

As early as 2010, Dr.Lily sun run all over the world and accomplished her wills to donate the bronze statue of her grandfather totally 168 pieces, even at the inauguration of the bronze statues, she would personally flew to that place for opening its ceremony, and at site she also addressed there, for six years, from Honolulu in the United States; Vancouver in Canada. Bangkok in Thailand, Guangzhou, Zhongshan [the home-town and her grandfather birthplace] in China and many areas worldwide; evenly in the villages you can see the figures of the bronze statue. She often said that she would achieve the biggest goal by donating 250 pieces of the statue in all to the different parts of the world; she aims at the task she is carrying on and forward and spreading over the immortal spirits of her grandfather internationally.

 

[THE BRONZE STATUES]

With delicate craftsmanship in the design of the statues, perfectly it was completed as a real Dr.Sun Yat Sen in full length, holding with the book on which the motto was sought in his life time on the both hands; seemingly reading aloud in public; he was looking solemnly and forward, standing up so stately. On the base of which the bronze is made up in the octagonal size, with the three layers, each of the layer is carved with the underlying words respectively, such as on the bottom inscribed with [LOVE, LOYALTY, PEACE, FAITH,FIALIAL PEITY., etc] ;on the top of the layer is engraved with Chinese traditional words to remind of us remembering the great merits and values from Chinese thousand year-cultures, on the middle of layer is craved with the personal calligraphy of Dr.Sun Yat Sen in which is so popularly spoken the famous words and phrases in public areas.

 

[BEYOND THE STATUES]

With great significance of donation of the statues, it is not only to be memorized Dr.Sun Yat Sen as one of the greatest man in the last century but also under his influence over the world, he was viewed as a great reformist and a pioneer to make a new era in the five thousands of years in Chinese history. A hundred year ago he led hundred millions of Chinese to overthrow the Qing dynasty and making the republic, now around the world, all Chinese and many foreign friends follow up and keep on the practices of Dr.Sun Yat-Sen’s thoughts and merits.

 

[ON MISSION]

While meeting with the 150th anniversary of Dr.Sun Yat Sen’birthday. Nowadays, Dr. Lily Sun lives at age of over 80 years, deeply motivated and driven by the spirit of her grandfather, she continues to march on and carry out the mission significantly, quoted as she said that, “Dr.Sun-Yat-Sen is not only his grandfather, but also to all the people around the world as an icon of great hero—Dr.Sun Yat-Sen.”
